What is the proper order for scan acquisition (scouts/topograms and series acquisitions)?

For the Standard, BMI dose-based protocols:  

• AP/PA scout at TLC: verify anteroposterior iso-centering and locate TLC scan endpoint 
• Lateral scout following TLC breath hold: verify right-to-left iso-centering, and select scan start point
• TLC scan  
• Lateral scout following RV breath hold: locate RV scan endpoint 
• RV scan  

 

For the Reduced dose, dose modulated protocols:  

• Lateral scout at TLC: verify anteroposterior iso-centering and locate TLC scan endpoint 
• AP scout at TLC: verify right-to-left iso-centering, and select scan start point 
• TLC Scan 
• Lateral scout at RV: locate RV scan endpoint 
• RV Scan
